Posted on 24 Oct, 2018

It’s that time of the year again when sweet treats and spooky events that only boo-long around Halloween start to pop up. Check out these fun fall events just a short drive from Aliento’s master-planned community in Santa Clarita.

Fright Fest
Six Flags Magic Mountain’s annual Fright Fest is back through October 28. Along with all the rides you can enjoy year-round, tread lightly through Red’s Revenge and other haunted attractions. Scare zones within the park also bring out the zombies and ghouls providing all sorts of supernatural photo opportunities.

Harvest Festival
For the younger kiddos, enjoy wagon and pony rides, face painting, pig races, pumpkin decorating and the petting zoo down on Gilchrist Farm. Then grab treats including caramel apples and roasted corn on the cob. Admission is free and open until October 31. However, activities are available through individual purchase or a wristband for unlimited access weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Halloween Fiesta
Santa Clarita Sunrise Rotary Club and the City of Santa Clarita host their 19th annual Halloween Fiesta at Newhall Community Center on Friday, October 26. Children are welcome to join in on their costume contest, pumpkin decorating and all sorts of other fun. And of course, there will be trick or treating.

Halloween Haunts
Symphony of the Canyons
presents an evening of frightening Halloween classics on Saturday, October 27, performed by Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Prelude Strings, Prelude Winds and Brass, and Guitar Ensemble.

Santa Clarita Marathon
Join long distance runners throughout the state for this Boston Marathon qualifying race on the weekend of November 3. Along with full and half marathons, enjoy the mostly flat 5K and 10K courses.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to train this fall or even more fun activities, The Terrace at Aliento includes a state-of-the-art fitness center and resort-style pool. Or start your day on the Paseo Aliento Trail stretching across 3 miles.
