It’s that time of year when many of us make New Year’s resolutions. Whatever your goals or resolutions are this year, one of the keys to making sure you stick to them is to make them a seamless part of your daily routine. It doesn’t hurt to also have a supportive network of like-minded friends and families.
In a community like Aliento, that’s easy. Whether your goal this year is to be more intentional in your commune with nature, perfect your downward-facing dog stance or form new friendships, you could be in no better place than Aliento to make that happen.
Take it outdoors.
The adage in real estate is location, location, location. And when it comes to a location that’s ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, Aliento can’t be matched.
Bothwell Park, located at the west end of Aliento, provides beautiful open spaces for playing and relaxing. With direct access to the Paseo Aliento Trail and the ridgeline trails just above Aliento, it’s easy to get immersed in the natural beauty while getting plenty of steps in. Four-legged friends can be great motivators to get up and on the trail, too, and Aliento has the perfect place for them at the community-exclusive Dogwood Park. A quick drive takes you to Mount Pinos where you can ski, stargaze, sled and more. And nearby Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce is a great spot for horseback riding, hiking and climbing.
What’s your fitness favorite?
If getting fit and stronger is your personal promise this year, Aliento’s resort-style Terrace is your place. Get your heart pumping at the fitness center, complete with state-of-the-art equipment and machines. Take up outdoor yoga classes on the exercise deck, or challenge yourself to daily lap swimming or water aerobics in The Terrace’s lap pool. Exercise classes are a great way to not only help you meet your fitness goals, but also to make new friends.
Make new connections.
If forming new friendships is on your 2019 bucket list, simply look within your new neighborhood. For residents of Verano, The Club at Verano is a great place to start. Into gardening? Check out the vertical community garden to make new green-thumb friends. All Aliento residents can try out the bocce ball court, or start a conversation over grilling at one of The Terrace’s outdoor barbecue grills. You can even host a book club group at the clubhouse. The Terrace was designed to bring people together.
And when you want to leave the preparation to someone else, get a group together and check out the award-winning culinary offerings of Santa Clarita and Valencia. In addition to great restaurants, there’s no shortage of wineries and breweries nearby, so gather the friends – new and old – for your own informal tasting tours. From Agua Dulce to Newhall and Valencia, venues abound for an afternoon of fun or a weekend friend-away.
