Get Back to Nature at Aliento

Posted on 04 Dec, 2018

Living at Aliento offers a chance to visit the animal kingdom without leaving your extended backyard. Lucky for us, a wonderful array of creatures reside right here in the valley. And as a resident at Aliento, you can stop in to say “hello” at these habitats near our new homes for sale in Santa Clarita.

William S. Hart Park
Just down the road from Aliento, American bison roam the hills of this 265-acre, fenced-in park. Rich in Hollywood history, the ranch land and original bison herd were used by Walt Disney in a handful of old western films. The land was eventually donated as a park to LA County by silent film star William S. Hart. Today you can visit the park’s barn to feed and interact with horses, cows, chickens and other animals.

Shambala Preserve
South of the Santa Clara River in the high desert of Acton is an exotic animal sanctuary, Shambala Preserve. Shambala specializes in exotic felines that are rescued from private owners or circuses. Safely get close to over 30 African lions, Bengal and Siberian tigers, spotted leopards, servals and mountain lions during a safari tour. Advance reservations are required as public tours are scheduled only one day per month. All preserve guests must be 18 or older.

Gibbon Conservation Center
Did you know gibbons are the only nonhuman primate that primarily walks on two legs? Often referred to as the songbirds of the primate family and the most musical land mammals, gibbons can project their voices up to two miles through dense rainforest.

These are some of the astounding facts visitors can learn at the Gibbon Conservation Center. This local conservation non-profit assists with gibbon rescue programs and habitat preservation in Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia, working to provide support for these endangered apes for many years to come.

The Gibbon Conservation Center offers public tours every Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. On the first Saturday of every month, guests can even practice yoga with the gibbons.

Paseo Aliento Trail
As you jog on the 3-mile trail looping throughout the Aliento community, you may see a variety of bird species including white-throated swifts and yellow warblers. Take in the stunning views and enjoy the serene, natural environment right inside this gated enclave.

Life at Aliento is about catching your breath and connecting with beautiful surroundings while enjoying an elevated lifestyle.
